The Product Specialist role places you on the regional Asia Pacific and Middle East product specialist team. Your main task is supporting institutional sales in the region. The position involves global and local investment strategies, local funds, investment mandates, and advisory solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Represent Principal Asset Management’s Global Capabilities: Function as a central hub for investment aid to our regional sales team. You will sustain an extensive knowledge of Principal’s investment solutions, demonstrating them to clients and within our Go-to-Market teams.
  • Drive Product Positioning: Partner with sales, client servicing, marketing, and portfolio management departments to establish our products within multiple asset classes and channels. You will contribute to new product launches and craft strategic product content.
  • Client Engagement: Actively engage with clients by supporting client servicing and go-to-market teams in various activities including product pitches, due diligence, performance reviews, asset class overviews, RFP submission support, and client product training.
  • Build Positive Relationships: Develop and sustain strong connections with important internal collaborators, including investment, go-to-market, client servicing, marketing, and product strategy teams across Hong Kong and the Asia Pacific region.
  • Implement Product Strategy: Take part in shaping and carrying out product strategy, ensuring that client viewpoints and requirements are incorporated. You will stay informed about industry trends and help advance product solutions that provide Principal with a competitive advantage.

Requirements

Who You Are

  • Bachelors degree; advanced degree is a plus.
  • CFA, CIMA, or CAIA designation preferred or meaningful experience.
  • At least 8-12 years of experience in asset management or investment management industry in Asia Pacific.
  • Strong communicator with excellent presentation skills, communication skills in Chinese an advantage.
  • A strong grasp of wealth, institutional, and pension investment in Hong Kong is required. Knowledge of broader Asia Pacific and Middle East markets is also preferred.
  • Strong investment competence and expertise across public market asset classes (Equities & Fixed Income). Multi-Asset experience may be prioritized. Knowledge of Asia Pacific investment markets an advantage.
  • Strong presentation and client-facing skills; with the ability to find creative solutions to complex client problems.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in data analysis, and experience in market/macro research is a strong positive.
  • Team-oriented with ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines with limited supervision.
